The IM route may be used when the medication is used as an adjunct to anesthesia. The purpose of Electrophysiology (EPS) is to study the heart’s electrical system. Ultrasound of the left femoral nerve is shown. The nerve, artery and vein are visualized in the video. An in-plane approach to the nerve with the block needle was used. An excellent view of a patellar snap was obtained. The stimulating catheter was loaded into the needle prior to insertion. Once the catheter was in place and stimulated, muscle twitches are seen.
